Why did we select this book?
Peek-a-boo is a great developmental game for babies. The act of hiding something and then revealing it sets off all sorts of healthy brain connections for young ones. We chose this book because the pages are perfectly designed to hide and then reveal a whole series of photos of babies. The book also has prompts for the reader to talk about the different parts of a baby's body.
Books become meaningful to your child when your child relates them to time spent with you. Books also become meaningful to your child when you make connections between what is happening on the page and what is a happening with your child. Use this book to point out your child’s eyes, nose, and toes. This will let them know that they have something in common with the children in the book and will help them became aware of their body.
