Childhood is an exciting time!

From walking to talking to READING, your child is performing miracles every day.

The first five years are also the prime time for children to learn language. When you visit your healthcare provider for a well-child check-up, he will make sure your child is healthy and learning at the right pace. He will remind you that reading aloud to your child helps them to see, hear, and experience new things, all of which help his brain to grow.

If your child was born too early or with a disability, it is important to talk with your healthcare provider early on to learn how best to provide experiences that help your child learn at a pace that is right for him.

raising readers is NOT about teaching young children to read. It IS about helping children to enjoy reading and language by exposing them to colorful, wonderful books.
