Literacy Explorer Kits for 2012 Books Under Development

Thanks to funding from the Barbara Bush Foundation for Family Literacy, raising readers and the Maine Family Literacy Initiative will create Literacy Explorer Kits based on the books in the 2012 raising readers Collection. The Kits include helpful tips about reading, important child developmental information, playgroup ideas for children and their parents together, and fun activities to help parents extend learning in the home.

The Explorer Kits are available for individual parents, family literacy programs, and other interested organizations, and can be easily downloaded here on the raising readers website. To date, there have been nearly 5,000 downloads of Literacy Explorer Kits.

Kits are currently available for books in the 2010 and 2011 collections. 2012 Kits will be available in the next few months.
