Thank You and Farewell to Dr. Belisle, raising readers Medical Advisor

For the past 10 years, a very big contributor to raising readers has been Dr. Lisa Belisle, who has served as the program's Medical Advisor. All parents in Maine have received a welcome note from "Dr. Lisa" in the newborn tote they receive at the birth of a child.

Dr. Belisle received her undergraduate degree from Bowdoin College, her medical degree from the University of Vermont and her Master of Public Health from the Medical College of Wisconsin. She trained in family medicine at Maine Medical Center and in preventive medicine at the University of Massachusetts.

Over the years, Dr. Belisle, has written many Issue Briefs for healthcare providers and submitted many wonderful articles to local parent newspapers targeted to young families. Her issue briefs included pieces about "Attachment" and "Father Figures", as well as many others topics. All are available on our website under the Healthcare Providers section.

We wish her well in pursuing new endeavors and wish her a fond farewell.
