Loving Learning
Kids Bring Books to TV!

Alberta and child

Alberta Gould Cole hosts the "Loving Learning" TV show, seen in the towns of Solon, Anson, N. Anson, Madison and Skowhegan. Cole, an author and reading teacher started the program in 2001 as a way to affirm parents as their child's first teacher and to explore the importance of preschool language development. It focuses on reading at home from birth onward and demonstrates effective approaches to reading aloud.

Children and their parents have great fun as guests on the program. They bring favorite books to talk about and then choose some to read aloud. Alberta or the parents model for viewers the enjoyment and excitement of reading stores. There's lots of discussion, laughter and discovery!
In addition to parent and child guests, Alberta often highlights family service agencies–such as raising readers, Literacy Volunteers of America and child care providers.

Alberta is especially excited when dads and sons are on the show. She is interested in male reading preferences and is doing anecdotal research on the subject.

Loving Learning is broadcast over public access Beeline cable channel 11. Alberta Gould Cole is the program's creator, director, and host. Mitchell Cole is the video technician and editor. Loving Learning is a great volunteer endeavor!
