Barbara Bush Honored for Role in Children's Book Program

Several children participating in raising readers brought their parents and their doctors to the hospital that bears the lady's name, the Barbara Bush Children's Hospital, to formally thank Mrs. Bush for her role in launching raising readers.

The children presented Mrs. Bush with a collection of books by Maine authors and illustrators. They brought their doctors and parents along to join in the recognition of Mrs. Bush's efforts to improve family literacy.
