Welcome back to the raising readers monthly newsletter!

Each month we send out information on raising readers happenings, fun literacy and book-related activities for children, and suggestions for reading and using books with children.

Our website is a wonderful resource for parents, doctors, nurses, daycare providers and anyone else interested in books, literacy and health. Here's an image of our homepage:

In the Books section you can find:

    • Lists of current books that our program is giving out and why our book committee chose that particular book.
    • "Write a review" - tell us what you think of a book and then see what others have to say about it!
    • Lists of children's picture books which deal with specific topics such as adoption, sibling rivalry, feelings, diversity, potty training, etc.

In the Literacy and Health section, you will find lots of articles and information about how reading to children helps them develop early literacy skills - helping them be "ready to learn" when they go to school!
